Intellect Expert is the engineer’s workbench for turning messy plant data into deployable Intellect solutions. From the same desktop you can discover signals, virtualize contexts and variables, cleanse and align histories, build and rank predictive models, configure detectors and optimizers, and publish the resulting tasks straight into Intellect Server’s 24/7 runtime.

What Intellect Expert does

  1. Connect & virtualize data (CVA)

    • Browse historians, SQL tables, files, and OPC DA/HDA servers through the CVA window, even when OPC clients must live on separate network segments. Expert talks to the remote OPCx86 service over TCP sockets, forcing DCOM out of the equation.
    • Pull tag trees on demand—the [+] expansion in the OPC browser issues fresh calls so engineers can drill into every folder before selecting variables.
    • Test connectivity directly inside Expert: point CVA to an OPC URL, request status, and browse tags to confirm the path from Expert → OPC client → OPC server before wiring it into production.

  2. Clean, synchronize, and engineer data

    • Extract columns from multiple repositories (historians, databases, files), align them in time, fill gaps, and tag mandatory inputs such as lift-gas rates captured during multi-rate tests.
    • Standardize timestamps in UTC (“2006-01-02T15:04:05.000Z”) via the built-in DateFn transforms so downstream tasks stay timezone-agnostic.
    • Create reusable data-handling templates and CVA definitions that can be replicated “across” sites or “down” well lists without rework.

  3. Build models, detectors, and optimizers

    • Run hundreds of candidate models per phase, validate them on three datasets (Modeling, Optimization, Selection), then auto-rank the top performers so the human modeler can prune and approve the final ensemble.
    • Generate modeling reports with actual vs. predicted traces for every well and phase, giving engineering and production teams a transparent readout before committing models to operations.
    • Configure event detectors, state logic, and optimization blocks (single or multi-objective, constraints, desirabilities, costs) that iImprove and Intellect Server will execute live.

       

  4. Publish to Intellect Server & downstream experiences

      • One-click deploy modeling packages, data handling templates, detectors, and optimizers to Intellect Server, preserving provenance (sources, conditioning steps, model settings) for audit.
      • Update downstream visualizations—e.g., copy variable keys from Model Builder to change what appears on the Intellect web dashboard without editing web code.
